So easy on the ears to hear how both men weave a tapestry with their words. How Simmerson describes his nephew, 'tied to me by blood... it my tongue not to be tied'., Sweet. And 'Major Hogan's coat buttons up tight over a number of other duties'.

Simmerson saying that Lenox panicked at the sight of the French, to a man who knew Lenox and his leadership ability intimately, was not terribly smart.

I love the subtle menace in his voice. He has Simmerson right where he wants him, and he lets the buffoon strut right into the trap before unloading on him. This is one of my favorite scenes from the whole series.

Every line Wellington utters is nuanced entirely differently! Irony, impatience, wrath etc. Even the look on his eyes changes every other second! Brilliance!!

This was when England was 100% white and had civilised half the backward countries into the art of sanitising your hands after wiping your arse so as to stop the diseases that are killing half of your countries population. And of course the nasty, horrible UK managed to invent steam power and bring the whole world into the modern age. And yet we are always the bad guys. Good job the UK is an island because we have good clean water between us and the rest of the scumbag world.

The British Empire is the reason the whole world has prospered and moved forward to being a better place to live than it was 100 years ago. And as a proud Englishman I make no apologies. You Mr Black man stuck in slavery can thank the Royal Navy for freeing you from your chains. It was the Royal Navy and Britain who destroyed the slave trade. Bet you never heard that taught in school.
